Workshops 'Cultivating Respect in the Classroom'
This workshop for teachers explores the importance of both the teacher's
authority, and the human relationship between teacher and child, examining specific language skills and approach in both areas.
We look at how commonly used language can have the opposite to the intended effect, and how to make simple changes to our
usual communication to effect positive change in both the children's behaviour and the quality of the relationship.
*Simple principles of effective communication *Practical
day-to-day communication skills *Creating your classroom culture *Effective discipline *Stronger
more authentic relationships One or two day workshops are available. The one-day workshop explores basic skills
within a clear framework of principles; the two-day workshop expands these skills further and provides opportunity for refinement
of skills based on feedback from participants after experience of practising the skills in the classroom in between
the two workshop days. Numbered skill sheets are provided to support every step of the programme, and these can be used by
teachers as quick reminders when practising the skills in the classroom. The workshop can be booked by individual schools
for one or two inset days.
